While winter holidays can be fun, there are lots of things that can go wrong, causing stressful situations. We have an incredible amount of chores, so even when we're free we somehow get loaded with work - either around the house, or doing grocery shopping. And don't get us starting on those home decorations and visits from distant family members! Those can turn into a real nightmare in a matter of seconds.

With so much on our plates we need to pay special attention to the way we feel and act fast if there's too much stress and irritation. That's no way to go through the holiday season! Here are a few tips that will help you de-stress amidst the chaos of festivities and family gatherings.

Find some time for yourself

It is very important to have at least 15 min. a day all to yourself. Yes, everyone needs you - kids, family, work, and a bunch of distant relatives coming from another state or even country. But you know what? The world will not end if you just spend 15 mintues reading a book or taking a long relaxing bath. Go for a walk, enjoy the winter day, grab a cup of hot tea or cocoa and just enjoy some silence. Your nervous system will thank you later!

Embrace the imperfections

When we want everything to be perfect we create a lot of pressure - not only for ourselves, but for our loved ones as well! Naturally, you can't reach perfection no matter how you try because life is chaotic and unexpected things happen all the time. Embrace the chaos of the holiday season, find time to enjoy all the fun and weird moments that come with it, and try to relax and laugh as much as possible. Be positive about everything that's happening around you!

It's good to dream big and plan your life ahead with cool new goals, but what most people don't realize is that those big dreams consist of smaller steps and easily-achievable goals.
