Actually, there is only one really healthy and proven method to lose weight: eat healthy food, exercise, and reduce the intake of calories. While some people find this method effective and try to stick to its 3 main rules by hitting a gym and eating healthy, others perhaps don’t have that much time and are looking for a remedy in a form of supplements. One study even showed that over 15% of Americans have tried weight-loss supplements during their lives.
Today, I’m gonna talk about resveratrol — an antioxidant that can be found in red wine and grapes, dark chocolate, some berries. It’s so popular thanks to having protective properties: this supplement is believed to be a potential treatment for different heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease. It’s also believed that this supplement boosts energy, helps to build muscles and maintain a healthy weight. In other words, the people who thirst for losing weight, consume resveratrol.
There were done researches about resveratrol properties to help lose weight yet mostly on animals. They showed that it triggers off the enzymes that help the muscles use oxygen way more efficiently. When you have more energy, your endurance level is higher. Moreover, the research also stated that this supplement improves muslces’ ability to sponge up glucose from consumed food. The more calories go into muslces, the less amount fat is in cells. That’s how it’s possible to maintain a healthy weight and lose the excess one.
Yet the complete safety from intaking resveratrol hasn’t been proven yet. Even though there was done one study where a person took one dose up to 5 times and everything was ok, this research was a one-day. All these studies mentioned before are too short, and the scientists don’t have enough data about its long-term effects on people. Also, resveratrol may have similar to estrogen properties, so people who are sensitive to hormones (people having cancer, pregnant women, kids) shouldn’t consume it.
