Pilates is not about making your heart bounce like a stereo. It’s also not about weights and grueling workouts. In fact, one man called Joseph Pilates was the one who “founded” this sport. He believed our mind and physical health are really linked, and Pilates is the sport that trains both your body and mind.

When you regularly do Pilates, you can actually achieve the desired body shape by making it strong, not bulk. Again, it’s not about lifting weights like in the gym, it’s about focusing your mind and your breathing while toning your body by targeting internal resistance.

The main thing in the balance here. Pilates teaches your mind to be connected with your body. It requires repetition and provides the results after weeks of training. However, what you’ll see, will definitely make you satisfied. You will notice the improvements any other session can’t bring. Pilates is about training the body as a whole rather than individual parts.

Pilates makes your core muscles strong and your posture way better. Core muscles are not only about the abs like most people used to think. Core muscles involve local or stabilizer muscles that are located closer to the vertebral column. You focus on your torso while moving your arms and legs. Thus, you improve balance (yes, I’m talking about it again), stability and flexibility.

As I mentioned before, Pilates is about training your whole body — it’s an amazing full-body workout that provides weight loss and a lean & fit appearance. You don’t need to be sweat after each workout session as well as feel tired and sore. Pilates won’t make you feel exhausted, instead, it energizes while increasing mind & body awareness. Living in balance with your mind is far more important than having a lot of muscles. Doing Pilates will positively impact your mental health, it can be a sort of meditation that also helps to burn calories.
