When it comes to training, what is your favorite kind of workout? Someone prefers HIIT for a total-body workout, someone likes something slower as yoga or pilates, and someone gets a good hang of weighted resistance training. Shona Vertue decided not to choose and combined gymnastics, weight training, yoga, and meditation in one training program called The Vertue Method.

This trainer was born in Australia and now lives in London. Shona has been in love with the sport in its different variations since her childhood. Actually, the woman went mad on gymnastics at the age of 5, being a tiny girl. By the way, Shona has never thought of fitness as a way to get fit or lose weight. She considered it a piece of art that satisfies the ego of our inner artists. Later, she realized that exactly dancing and gymnastics were her own secret weapon to feeling good and strong BOTH physically and mentally.

Now, having almost half a million Instagram followers, Shona’s aim is to make people stronger using methods that make something unreal combined together. She builds up people’s legs muscles AND minds with the weights and yoga sessions. Sometimes you can have millions of thoughts that simply tear you down, you can’t always stay positive, and it’s impossible to get rid of this blue feeling.

That’s why Shona decided to include meditation into her The Vertue Method training program. In one of her interviews, she admitted that truly believes in the efficiency of this approach. Its main aim is to help the body recuperate from intense exercises and completely relax.

Shona explains that HIIT workouts are really stressful for our nervous system. Did you listen to the up-tempo of your heart after intense training? Sometimes, it’s really furious! Yoga is the fellow of HIIT that helps to calm down our heart rate after exhausting movements. Shona keened on yoga after finishing high-school and immediately fell in love with it. She included this kind of sport into her program because of its magical benefits. After it people feel like they just stepped out of a psychotherapist cabinet — energized, revitalized, calm, and unperturbed.

When it comes to food, Shona brings up an intuitive approach when you have to listen to your body and choose food that brings you pleasure. She believes we have to nourish ourselves with tasty and still wholesome products while keeping in mind different scientific researches.
