We all live in a world full of noise — people are everywhere, and the sounds of crowded streets fill the emptiness and provide the feeling of being always busy. Noise is not harmful since it helps us to move on and sometimes even motivates us. You can fall behind when other people are doing their best to make a go of it.

But everybody needs to recharge. And it’s when silence comes to play. Genuine silence is a source of rejuvenation, creation, and peace. Your mental health sometimes needs pills to get better, and silence is the best of them.

In general, there are 2 kinds of silence: the external silence and the inner silence. The outside silence appears when the noise of the outside world disappears. How can you reach it? The first and the easiest way would be establishing digital lockouts. Disconnecting from the digital world reinstalls the link with our loved ones and helps us "reload" with our inner selves. You can start with the evenings, then with Sundays, and then with even a few days in a row. Once you manage to do it, the silence will inspire you and help you reload your batteries while rejuvenating you from within.

The inner silence is the absence of your thoughts. It’s the second stage where you can become an observer of the stillness. We may stop thinking while sleeping (but still not always), and all the other time, our brain is working hard to solve our daily problems. Yet it also needs rest to rejuvenile. Meditation and conscious breathing are a way out. When practicing it every day, you can reach this stage of the absence of your thoughts and enlighten your brain so that it can rest, recharge, and start working again, but with more enthusiasm and power. Silence rejuvenates your body AND your soul — it’s the best medicine to feel better both mentally and physically.
