The tapeworm diet became popular in the 1900s when one famous opera singer stated that letting a parasite into your body will help you lose weight. The idea was to use your body as a home for tapeworms. This creature had to eat all the food you consumed instead of you. Such tapeworms can grow up to 30 feet! Luckily, this diet was banned by the Food and Drug Administration since it could lead to severe infections.

She could only eat the food that could come through this wire, such as soups, smoothies, and, yeah, milkshakes. What happened next? In a week, she got tired of it and had an incredible craving for all of her favorite food and got rid of this strange invention.
