War-zone areas are most affected, as the war takes away all the basic necessities of mankind. There is no clean water to drink nor any safe shelter to live under. People are deprived of basic food. Thus, war comes with its own set of heavy consequences. It not only affects the physical health of civilians but also their mental health.
MALNUTRITION AND WATER-BORNE DISEASES:
War takes away the right to access clean water and sufficient food. E.g. when a person is constantly drinking dirty and lead-poisoned water, and insufficient food for days, he is most likely to suffer from malnutrition and water-borne diseases. His health will deteriorate within days leading this life slipping from his own hands. This is called helplessness; thus war causes you to be helpless. As you can’t even save your own life.
MATERNAL AND CHILDREN’S HEALTH:
Maternal and children’s health inter- linked. If a mother isn’t eating and living healthy, her child will definitely suffer in various ways. Such as:
· If the baby’s breastfeeding.
· If the mother’s pregnant
· If the mother has to take care of her child’s health
Thus, children can only be healthy if the mother is physically and mentally doing well. Especially, the children born in war-affected zones, have a higher risk of fatal diseases.
MENTAL STABILITY:
It has been proven through research that people who live in war zones have deteriorated mental health. It is very difficult for them to overcome the trauma and live a normal life again. Thus, they need medical assistance to return back to l9fe. As the events of the past always haunt them.
